Władysław Szlengel’s Prewar Poems

Władysław Szlengel is best known as the author of poignant poems written in the Warsaw Ghetto. This book turns to the earlier, lesser-known part of his work from the 1930s.

The collected poems and newspaper pieces — lyrical, satirical, ironic, and journalistic — appeared in publications including Kino, Szpilki, Nasz Przegląd, 5-ta Rano, and Robotnik. The book contains 28 principal works, an introduction, notes, and editorial commentary.
